Keyboard controls

Every key that does something, in one place.

Key What it does
Space Moves on narrator lines, scene changes, and instructions. Finishes a line that is still typing.
A, Z, Q, and the rest Moves on the line of the character who owns that key, answers a mini-game that names them, or picks a choice that shows the letter.
Right arrow, Up arrow Forward, only where Space would work. They never skip a character’s line, a choice, or a mini-game.
Left arrow, Down arrow Back to the slide you just came from, like the browser’s Back button.
Enter or a click Picks a selected choice or a Press … button.

Wrong keys are quietly ignored, and nothing in Keyfolk times you.

Key What it does
Escape Closes what’s open, one layer at a time: first the help panel, then the menu. With nothing open, it takes you home.
Tab Moves between the buttons on the slide. While the menu is open, Tab stays inside it.

Clicking works anywhere a key does: choices, Press … buttons, Continue to the next chapter, and the menu. Dragging the story with the mouse doesn’t turn pages; the keys and arrows do.

The address bar shows the chapter and slide you’re on. Bookmark it, or reload, to come back to the same spot.
